I am back home, and almost over the jet jag, after a trip to Beijing. My first time in Asia, my first time on an organized tour. It was fascinating and exhausting. The plane flight was excruciatingly long but by the next morning it already felt like it was worth the effort. Beijing is a very modern city, absoutely huge, and growing still in leaps and bounds. It was full of tourists, most of them Chinese, also on tours from other parts of this huge country. For the Beijingers, foreigners are no big deal. For the out-of-towners, we were part of the Bejing experience and we got our pictures taken fairly often. I took 333 pictures, and am gradually organizing them into albums on Flickr. Here are the first few albums. Make sure to embiggen them -- the thumbnails don't give much of the image.
Fabulous photos! So glad you had a good time. An organized tour is good in a place like China. Talk soon.
